Evolving Your Fitness

Has the group class CrossFit environment stopped challenging you? Have you plateaued in your fitness and don't know what to do to move further? You may just be the intermediate CrossFitter: Beyond the novice, but not yet an advanced athlete, you need to find a way to bridge the gap between intermediate and advanced, and eventually, between advanced and elite. We are here to help you build that bridge!

My name is Jacob Tsypkin (also known as BullFrog.) I am the co-owner and head trainer of CrossFit Monterey (www.crossfit-monterey.com) in Monterey, California.

The point of this blog will be to help CrossFitters "evolve" their fitness. What exactly does that mean?

There are a lot of misunderstandings about the CrossFit methodology. From overuse of non-fundamental exercises and lack of fundamental skill work, to watering down the efficacy of CrossFit programming through over specification, many well intentioned CrossFitters are blunting their progress towards increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains. At Evolve Your Fitness, we aim to help as many athletes as possible remedy that, through articles and discussions.

All questions and suggestions are welcome! Send them to Tsypkin@gmail.com

Train hard and train smart!
